18 year old Clary Fray, finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. Very interesting story line but the acting in this show is sooo horrible I've seen 4 year old children do better acting than this it makes me want cut off the nuts of whoever cast these people. -
I'm glad the actors finally come in their role , and I see that there is finally something more recognition of the books , I hope this series is completed as described in the books and not prematurely is cancelled

Love the series, but there is a thing that keeps bugging me, Jace can't be Val and Jocelyn's son because h's blonde and neather of the parents are, plus he has heterocromia that is transmited geneticly, so it's impossible for Clary and Jace to have at least the same mother -

This is the worst acting ever. Even the actors are shit. I am so disappointed because I loved the books soooo much, and when this came out I was excited, but now I am so sad that this is what they came up with. I love TMI but this series is too horrible. Holy.... Okay, I really enjoyed the first episode of the second season. They changed the special effects and the props so they look so much better now. The tone is so much better, and no cringe worthy dialogue this time around. Also, genuine acting from most of the actors. Leagues better than anything in season 1. Amazing! Absolutely amazing! i LOVE how they have portrayed the characters in the tv series! They still keep the essence of the books, however also adding new and inventive twists that just FURTHER enhances the brilliance of the show. The characters are lovable and the choice of cast was absolutely spot on! This is the type of show you want to watch when there's absolutely nothing else on except for the Old Spice guy. The acting is sub-par, not terrible but not quality standard either. Katherine McNamara (Clary) isn't the worst actor/ess in the show to be fair, but she needs to lose the "Disney-ness" to be a convincing bad-ass. Unsurprisingly, some of her shadow hunting aquantances have voiced their concerns about her presence in their ranks, though none seem worried by the fact that she holds her your sword like it's a handbag, and runs around with it out, a lot, in high heels. She's going to have someone's arm off! Much room for improvement.

Watching this show I was convinced that this must be the product of a low budget college television project that somehow made it to Netflix. The acting is laughable, so much so that I almost fell off of my couch. Sadly the laughs and tears for poor Cassandra Clare's legacy is that this show has plot holes galore and pretty bad graphics. If it wasn't for the fact that the whole of the story is interesting, I think that I would've stopped watching by the first episode.

Wasn't sure about this show at the beginning, but it picks up a lot around episode 5. Big improvements in quality as well. It's not the best show out there, but definitely isn't as bad as some people are trying to make it seem. I can't wait to see how much it improves for season 2.

I am honestly really enjoying this show. The first coupe episodes were very rough, but the quality of both acting and writing improved a lot. It's really such a compelling story. Shame some people can't seem to get it into their heads that it isn't suppose to be exactly like the books.

I already wrote a review for when the show first started and honestly my opinion has not changed. I loved the books, read them when they first came out, and I had high hopes for this show. I knew it wouldn't be exactly like the books (nothing ever is), but I thought it would at least be good enough. I understand that if you haven't read the books then it would be an okay show, but it is not going as Cassie had put it to be. If there was a negative rating I would give this show it. I loved the books and I had high hopes for the TV rendering but this has been beyond disappointing. The movie was ten times better than this and though may not have been as true to the book as we had hoped but at least everyone in the movie knew how to act. Like c'mon ever heard of screen tests?

I like it and I even get what others are complaining about but it's the only option of seeing our favorite book series come to life and all the complaining will shut this down just like the movie only being one... Well, people should stop comparing this to the books, because we all heard the actors and producers say the characters were getting to the same destination, with the journey being different for the element of surprise for the book readers. You don't have to be harsh to voice your thoughts. There will always be flaws in every tv show. We just need to give it time. Like come on, we're not even near mid-season.

This was able to be worse than the movie. First of all, Kat ISN'T Clary. Even Lily Collin's version was better. In the books Clary isn't such a cry baby and she isn't that girly. I was really excited for the Shadowhunters series, I knew it wasn't going to be exactly like the books but I still had hopes. Unfortunately, what has happend so far was not good in my opinion. Clary and Jace don't have any chemistry, and the way the story is going just doesn't go with the books at all. To be honest, the movie cast was way better that this one.

Extremely disappoint with the first episode, the acting seemed force for all characters except Simon. Don't get me wrong i expected changes to the story, what i didn't expect were some of the poor props, poor acting (how does someone go from stumbling teenager to Miss attitude in the space of 5 minutes) and lack of excitement the 1st episode provided. i may come back to this at a later date when there will be a couple of to watch in a row but i do not have high hope for this series after that.
